The text-back bot for tradies who are flat out on the tools

Don't Miss A Call is missed-call text-back and AI SMS receptionist software for Australian tradies — plumbers, electricians, builders, sparkies, chippies and every trade in between. When a customer rings and you can't get to the phone, we instantly text them back, an AI works out what the job is, and you get the lead — so a missed call becomes a booked job instead of money walking out the door.

It works on any phone and any plan, takes about five minutes to set up, and you keep your existing number. Nothing on your van, ads or website needs to change.

Why we built it

I'm Matt — a working dad doing handyman work around Perth. I recently spent two years building a shed out of recycled hardwood, and I kept hitting the problem every tradie knows: you can't stop mid-cut to answer the phone, but if you don't, the customer just rings the next tradie.

Don't Miss A Call is the fix I wanted — it texts your missed callers back, works out what they need, and sends you the lead, so you can keep working and still catch the job.

How it actually works

There's no app on your phone and no new number to hand out. Don't Miss A Call uses the conditional call forwarding that's already built into every Australian mobile service — the same feature that sends unanswered calls to voicemail. You point it at us instead.

Your phone rings normally. If you pick up, nothing happens and we never see the call. If you don't — you're up a ladder, under a sink, or doing 100 on the freeway — the network hands the call to us after about twenty seconds. We text the caller back within roughly ten seconds, ask the questions you've chosen, work out what the job is and how urgent it is, and put the whole thing on your phone as a lead you can act on.

Because it works at the carrier level rather than on the handset, it doesn't care what phone you've got. A five-year-old Android from Kmart works exactly the same as the newest iPhone. Prepaid works the same as postpaid — the only thing that has to change is switching your carrier's voicemail off, because voicemail answers on the same conditions we do and whichever one the network reaches first wins. We've written that up carrier by carrier, and we do it with you on the phone during setup.

What we won't do

Every missed-call service on the internet runs the same sum at you: missed calls times average job value equals some enormous number you're supposedly losing every month. We don't, because we can't. We have no idea how many of your missed calls are real jobs. Neither does anyone else selling you this. Plenty of them are suppliers, wrong numbers, robocalls and someone chasing a quote from six months ago.

So we don't quote you a figure we'd have to invent. We tell you what we charge, and we let you work out your own numbers — there's a two-minute leak test on the home page that runs entirely on your phone and sends nothing anywhere. If it says you haven't got a problem, it says so, and tells you not to buy anything.

We also don't pretend the AI is a person. If a customer asks straight out, it tells them it's an assistant helping you catch missed calls and that you'll ring them back yourself. Most people don't ask. The ones who do appreciate being told the truth.

And you don't pay until it catches you a job. Not a trial with a countdown — there's no clock. The day it works out what a real customer needs is the day billing starts. If that never happens, you never pay us anything.

Who it's for

Sole traders and small crews who are on the tools all day and can't get to the phone — sparkies, plumbers, chippies, painters, roofers, landscapers, mechanics, tilers, HVAC and locksmiths. If your work is the kind where stopping to answer costs you time, safety, or the spot you were up to, it's built for you.

It's probably not for you if you already have someone answering the phone, or if your work comes through a platform rather than people ringing your mobile. We'd rather say that up front than take your money.
