ServiceM8 and Tradify don’t answer your phone
Last checked 4 August 2026
Neither one answers your phone. They run the job after you've won it — quotes, scheduling, invoicing — and they're very good at that. The call that rings out while your hands are full never reaches them.
Does ServiceM8 or Tradify answer your phone?
No. Neither one does, and neither claims to.
They're job management software. They run everything that happens after you've won the work — quotes, scheduling, job cards, photos on site, invoicing, payments. They're genuinely good at it, which is why they dominate the Australian small-tradie market.
But the call that rings while you're under a sink and goes unanswered never reaches them. By the time a job exists in ServiceM8, the winning already happened somewhere else.
So what actually catches the missed call?
Something has to sit in front of the job software. There are only really three options:
- Voicemail — which most people who reach a tradie's voicemail don't bother leaving a message on. They ring the next name.
- A voice AI receptionist — answers in a synthetic voice and can book straight into ServiceM8 or SimPRO. Costs more, sometimes with a four-figure setup fee.
- A missed-call text-back — lets it ring out, texts the caller in about ten seconds, works out the job over SMS.

Do you integrate with ServiceM8 or Tradify?
Not today. Straight answer, because you'll find out in five minutes anyway.
We hand you a qualified lead — name, what the job is, how urgent, the suburb, the full text thread — on your phone and in your dashboard, with a one-tap drop into whatever calendar you use. Turning that into a ServiceM8 job is currently something you do, and it takes about as long as typing a job in normally does.
If automatic two-way sync into your job software is the thing you actually need, buy a product that does it. Some of the voice services integrate properly and that's what their setup fee pays for.
Why would I add anything on top of job software?
Only one reason worth the money: because enquiries are getting lost before they ever become jobs. If your ServiceM8 is full and nothing is falling through the cracks at the phone stage, you don't need this.
The test is simple. Think back over the last month: can you name a real customer who rang once, you meant to call back, and by the time you did they'd booked someone else? If you can name two or three, that's the gap. If you can't name any, don't buy anything — here's the longer version of that argument.
Will it interfere with my job software?
No. We sit at the carrier level, not on your phone and not inside your systems — your number forwards unanswered calls to us and nothing else changes. No app to install, no new number to hand out, nothing on your van or your website to update.
The one thing that does have to change is carrier voicemail, which has to be switched off — voicemail answers on the same conditions and would take the call first. Carrier-by-carrier instructions here, free and useful whichever product you end up with.
